Guangdong Quyi |
There are two forms of Guangdong Quyi. In a broad sense, Guangdong
Quyi includes various Quyi forms in Guangdong, such as Yuequ, Wooden
Clapper Song, Dragon Boat Song, Nanyin, Chaozhou Song, Kejia Bamboo
Clapper Song and Xianshui Song. As a fact, it means the genre of popular
entertainment consisting mainly of talking and singing. On the other
hand, Guangdong quyi means Yuequ in a narrow sense.
Yuequ
Yuequ, a branch of Yue opera, is the most popular form in the area
which Cantonese is spoken. It is performed in Cantonese.
Wooden Clapper Song
It is performed with wooden clappers by people in Cantonese in the
way talking and singing. It is a common-used form in Yue opera and
Yuequ.
Nanyin
Nanyin is common used in Guangdong Yue opera and Yue opera. It develops
into storytelling to the accompaniment of stringed instruments on
the basic of wooden clapper song and dragon boat song.
Dragon Boat
It is also called dragon boat song. It is another way through which
opera arias are sung without makeup and acting.
